Группа Dawn Of Tears (Рассвет Слёз) начала свой путь в конце 1999 года. Бывший гитарист J. L. Trebol принял решение о создании своей метал-группы под влиянием современного Dark Metal и Heavy конца 80-х и 90-х годов.
Тем не менее, группа так и не была образована до середины 2001 года, до момента прихода J. Alonso в качестве вокалиста.
В 2007 году выходит их дебютный альбом "Descent" и становится номинированным на премию "Metal Storm awards" как лучшая запись в стиле мелодэт, наряду с такими динозаврами жанра, как Dark Tranquility, Arch Enemy и другими группами первого эшелона. Группа заняла третье место, что позволило им отправиться в большой тур с группами Dimmu Borgir, Charon, Dew Scented и Stravaganzza.
